Rich Medina & Bobbito: the Connection

Fresh off the plane, Bobbito and Rich Medina had a weekend to spend in Amsterdam on the occasion of the Hudson year celebrations between NYC and Amsterdam, for which they were invited to spin at different clubs. They also celebrated the release of their joint effort, the compilation ‘The Connection volume one’. A double cd (and single promo EP on vinyl), Rich Medina’s pick for the compilation is modern and classic afrobeat, while Bobbito (whose roots are in Puerto Rico) explores the broad spectrum of Latin music. They joined for an interview about their friendship, the making of The Connection, the future of African music in the international market and Bobbito’s history with African hip hop (he released a 12 inch by Cashless Society & Mizchif after his first visit to SA in 2000).
