Konono No 1 are touring again, and this weekend they will play in the vicinity of Africanhiphop.com headquarters in Amsterdam, Netherlands as part of the Shuffle.Play concert series.
The ensemble from Kinshasa, known for their trademark sound based on amplified thumb piano (a.k.a. mbira, likembe, marimba or kalimba), did a collabo with Belgian/Congolese rapper Baloji on his ‘Karibu ya bintou’.
We are giving away two tickets for their show at the Melkweg, this sunday 20 March at 8PM (opening act: Kuenta i Tambu from Curacao and dj MPS Pilot). All you need to do is to become friends with Africanhiphop.com via the African hip hop Facebook page (simply click the ‘like’ button in the right column of the Africanhiphop.com main page) and send us your Facebook nickname (you can use the contact form). You have until saturday afternoon to participate and win those two tickets worth 20 euro each!*
Also stay tuned for future Shuffle.Play concerts at the Melkweg venue with the Africanhiphop radio deejays (Threesixty & Jumanne).
