On Friday, March 8, 2013, Senegal’s Yene A Mare movement shall make an appearance on the Washington DC hip hop scene. At the Internationally Known Global Hip Hop Showcase, Senegalese rap groups including as Batllions Blin D, Thiat, Waterflow and Baay Musa will take the stage at the Tropicalia. For years, and particuarly since 2000, rap in Senegal has been known for its promotion of political and social change. These artists continue to perform socially conscience and inspring music.

The event is also a celebration of Nomadic Wax’s brand new release of the third edition of the acclaimed Internationally Known free mixtape series, promoting hip hop from all over the world: http://nomadicwax.bandcamp.com/track/internationally-known-vol-3
