Blakk Rasta, the radio personality and reggae artist from Ghana, got continent wide fame with his tribute to Obama, released during the USA presidential election campaign in 2008. In 2009 he visited the African Hip Hop Radio studio for an interview and freestyle session. And while Obama is getting ready to campaign for re-election, Blakk Rasta has just released a song dedicated to another of his political heroes: Muammar Gaddafi, the late ruler of Libya. The track can be listened to and downloaded via the links below.
If you have followed online (and offline) discussions lately it may come as no surprise that the public opinion about the capture and death of Gaddafi is not all in support of the rebels who ended his life. Especially in Africa there’s plenty support for the theory that the NATO intervention in Libya was all about oil or preventing the plans for introducing a pan-African currency, the Gold Dinar, which could have changed the worldwide economic balance and bring wealth to the African continent.

Bismillah Rahman Nir Raheem(In the name of Allah)
Oh why? Gaddafi ooo
STANZA 1
They were the best of friends
Zappatero,Belusconi and Sarkozy of France
Eat,dine and bunga bunga and flock together
They did like birds
Handshakes of treachery,jealousy,hypocrisy
Soon flooded the press
Popular uprising in Tunesia,Syria and Egypt
Rustled the nest
They planted rats and cockroaches to rebel against Gaddafi
And cause a ‘blunderous’ historical mess
In a twinkling of an eye
The eating, the dinning and the bunga bunga must be suppressed
And the birds put together to rest
Having been replaced by drones from America,Italy,France and the rest
ADLIBS AND HUMMING:
What a shame..It’s a shame…kai!
STANZA 2
While the toothless bulldog of an African Union
Sat and watched so powerlessly
Libya was ransacked
By mafias and ninjas so vehemently
What was his crime?
He wanted the African currency for his oil
He wanted to pay the price
He was slaughtered like a dog on his own soil
He rejected the Arab league
And flocked with his African identity
He regretted his past
And wanted to see Africa in total sanity
Muammar Al Gaddafi was a threat
To western,hypocritical capitalists
Free food,shelter,healthcare and education
He gave to his people as a champion of all African socialists
CHORUS
VERSE:(Stonebwoy Burniton)
To the world…bim!
He should have stepped down
The warrior should have stepped down
Muammar Al Gaddafi should have stepped down
Noticing the vampires and leaches in a the land
Well then…see how dem shot him
Shot him pon the head
And a boy push a knife through him buttom like a bread
See how dem lynch him
Like an armed robber
While pure money in a him safe and coffer
Pan Africanism
Dem nah waan see it moving
And thief we oil
With dem ism and skism
Remember me tell you each and everyday
Babylon a strategise how to stash a carat of gold
And kill the leader dem..oh no..
Burniton and Blakk Rasta..unu fi know..bim!
CHORUS
TO FADE…
