Nigerian rapper AQ, born as Gilbert Ubani, got initiated into the world of hip-hop in secondary school after hearing classic songs from Biggie, Jay-z, and Rakim. He started rapping professionally in 1998. After six years of record label politics and industry antics, he finally decided to grab the bull by the horns and independently recorded and released his debut compilation CD.
2009 is wrapping up and AQ jumps on the beat of arguably the biggest song made in Nigeria in 2009 – P Square’s ‘Danger’. Does he rip it? Check for yourself. Also expect his album ‘The past, present and future’ in 2010.
